Aftermath: TUF 14 Finale

I’ve decided to start doing a new post after each UFC event. This one is late because I thought I already posted it.

Michael Bisping picked up a lackluster win over Jason Miller and is the worst looking winner of the night. Miller hasn’t fought since 2009 and even let Bisping punch him in the face repeatedly but still never went out. With an impressive win Bisping would have been in a definite position for a title shot or contender shot, now he waits on the sidelines and has to hope other Middleweights get injured for a shot at Anderson Silva. Jason Miller should get a shot soon against a middle of the road fighter to prove that ring rust might have been the reason for his gassing out.

Deigo Brando pulled off an armbar so quickly to become the 145lb. Ultimate Fighter that many people might have missed it. Jose Aldo has a fellow Brazilian to keep his eye on after highlight reel knockouts during the season and a potential arm breaking armbar Brando seems to be the real deal.

John Dodson won the 135lb. Ultimate Fighter prize, but didn’t win any fans over with his post fight antics. Dodson is a great fighter with knockout power and ultimately will be in the 125lb. Flyweight division, but his attitude and antics might cause a rift between him and the fans whose voice controls many decisions in the UFC. Just ask Jon Fitch.

Tony Ferguson picked up a decision victory over Yves Edwards the performance was lackluster by both men in my opinion. Yves landed a powerless head kick all night but Tony showed lack of skill by allowing it to happen a finish in this fight may have catapulted one of these two men to the top. However fans were left wondering why didn’t any one display any ground game?

Johnny Bedford earned a contract with the UFC last night with his dominate performance over fellow TUF 14 housemate Louis Gaudinot. While nothing is official one has to assume after a fight like that Bedford is going to get a contract offer from Dana White really soon.
