Weekend Wrap Up #kennyfor55

Elliott Sadler won the Nationwide race his first since 1998. He also announced he will be driving for MWR in the #55 Cup ride for five races this season. Later this was retracted due to a manufacture clash leaving the 55 out of a driver. Keselowski, Stenhouse Jr., Dillon, & Harvick closed out the top 5. With Sadler out of the 55 let’s get Kenny Wallace in it he’d be a great fit for Aaron’s and for MWR.

Denny Hamlin won the Sprint Cup race with Harvick, Biffle, Johnson, Keselowski, Ky. Busch, Truex Jr., Gordon, Martin, & Logano closed out the top 10.

UFC on FX 2
Martin Kampmann beat Thiago Alves by 3rd Round guillotine choke in a fight that he was losing before then.

Joseph Benavidez beat Yashurio Urushitani via TKO in round 2 in a dominating performance. Advancing to the finals of the Flyweight tourney.

Demetrious Johnson was given the decision over Ian McCall. However this was a major screw up on the part of the athletic commission in Australia because the fight was actually scored a draw and should have gone to a fourth round. The two will fight again as soon as possible to give Joseph Benavidez an opponent for the Flyweight title.

Constantinos Philippou beat Court McGee via unanimous decision. Not much to say here.

Strikeforce: Tate v. Rousey

Ronda Rousey defeated Miesha Tate via armbar in the first round when she dislocated her elbow on the second armbar attempt of the night, to become the champion. Rousey didn’t like Tate’s calls for a fine to her after the weigh-ins and resulted in an interview that was less than respectful but honest. Then, Brian Caraway best known for being Miesha’s boyfriend and also a nutcase on The Ultimate Fighter offered to knock Ronda’s teeth out on Twitter. Let’s be honest Rousey would destroy this guy.

Josh Thompson beat K.J. Noons via decision. K.J. really needs to work on grappling.

Kazuo Misaki defeated Paul Daley via decision and did so standing which really takes the only thing Paul had going for him and flushes it down the toilet.

Lamumba Sayers beat Scott Smith via guillotine choke in the first round, Scott should get his pink slip any day now.

Ronaldo Souza defeated Bristol Marunde via arm triangle choke in the 3rd round.

That’s the weekend in sports we cover in depth here at Two Broke Students.
