Washington Downs the Champs

USA Today

Joel Ward scored the overtime winner in last nights game 7 victory over the Bruins. Washington is moving on to the second round, and both 8 seeds this year have defeated the 1 seed. Sadly, his goal has been the center of racial charged backlash. Joel Ward didn’t beat the hell out of someone for no reason, he didn’t call out all white people as the devil, he scored a goal. People should be celebrating that he scored not screaming racial obscenities.

Tonight Ottawa faces New York in game 7; then New Jersey faces Florida which will be joined in progress on NBC Sports or on NHL network, or of course the local affiliate. If Ottawa and New Jersey win the bottom 4 seeds from the East will advance, the first time this has happened since 2006. Nothing is better than game 7.
