Tonight four of the most exciting Lightweights in the world will be showcased in a title fight main event and a potential title eliminator co-main.
Champ Benson Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar (for lightweight title)
Bendo isn’t the champ by luck, he’s just really good. I think Edgar gets TKO’d in the 3rd round by a determined Henderson.
Donald Cerrone vs. Melvin Guillard
These two are friends, they love to have wild exchanges on the feet, one doesn’t make weight, one is great on the mat. Guillard missed weight, he came in a pound and a half over the limit which could be an advantage or disadvantage, but we don’t know how much he really cut. Cerrone is by far better on the ground, and when the fight ends up there he’ll get the submission victory. Round 2 submission win for Cerrone.
Jake Shields vs. Ed Herman
Shields is back at 185 for the first time since he entered the UFC. I don’t believe that there is a guy in the division without the wrestling of Munoz, Weidman, or Sonnen that could keep the fight standing. Herman is tough, but Shields with power behind his takedown attempts should be unstoppable. I’d like Shields to take the fight via submission in round 3.
Yushin Okami vs. Buddy Roberts
Okami should take this fight. TKO in the 2nd round.
Justin Lawrence vs. Max Holloway
Lawrence has a lot of hype behind him. I think he will bring something to the table this time and win by TKO in round 2.
